Scholastic achievement is fundamental at Berkeley Hall. It is our teachers’
goal to inspire their pupils to recognize and achieve their individual
promise
without limitations. A love of learning, confidence, self-esteem, and
a spirit
of discovery are the tools with which we equip our graduates for success,
not
just in high school or college, but also in life.
Small classes in junior high enable teachers to know and address individual
interests, abilities, and talents, while closely guiding the emotional
as well
as academic transition from junior high to high school.
Elementary students have seven specialist teachers in science, art, music,
technology, physical education, woodshop and library sciences, in addition
to
their core teacher.
Enrichment study with a full-time resource teacher offers students the
opportunity to develop beyond their grade level. The resource teacher
is also
available to work with children who need reinforcement in basic academic
skills.
Academic distinction is encouraged through the Scholarship Society, science
fairs, and public speaking competitions.
