Alums write & meet to express the impact Berkeley Hall has had on their lives.

“Critical Thinking, respect for knowledge and love for others took root in my life because of the nurturing, demanding and embracing love that was everywhere on the Berkeley Hall Campus.” Steve Logan Barkhurst, x’56, Managing Editor, Asian Pacific American News & Review.

The motto “Nihil Nisi Optimum” or “Nothing But The Best” was used on the Shield created by the Class of 1956. They will be reconnecting at the Country Fair, Saturday May 6th ,2006 to celebrate their 50th reunion. The graduating class contained 16 students: Bethany Adlam, Karl Baker, Jerry Compton, Dianna Davis, Randy Dukes, Ron Fleming, Steve Hitt, Mike Jarvis, Jane Jeffries, Judy Jones, John Kennedy, Paul Lasley, Vicki Morse, Peter Paul, Sonja Tonjes, and Diane Wilken.   Young alums from the class of 2001 greet each other with smiles and share their news when they return to BHS. Often these alums want to see their Class Shield and Motto (on permanent display in Hodges Theatre) which they crafted together at Woodshop during their graduating year at Berkeley Hall.

Many informal get-togethers are held, such as this off-campus reunion of the Class of 1965.   The threads of Berkeley Hall are tightly woven in multi-generational BHS families. Pictured here are a mother and daughter, graduates of 1975 and 2004, respectively.
