At Berkeley Hall, middle school is a time for students to step into greater independence while staying grounded in shared values. Math

Math: Thinking Critically, Solving Creatively

At BHS, math is more than computation. It’s about reasoning, problem-solving, and discovery. Students explore both the how and why behind concepts, building a deep, lasting understanding. Whether in the Standard or Accelerated curriculum, every student is challenged appropriately and prepared for high school success.

To reinforce mastery, students articulate their thinking, apply math to real-world problems, and mentor peers. Programs like Math Olympiad, the Pi Contest, and Peer Tutoring offer exciting ways to deepen skills, lead, and truly enjoy math.

Spanish: A Window on the World

Middle school Spanish goes far beyond mastering grammar and vocabulary. With hands-on projects and experiences, students explore the multicultural nature of the language, spanning continents, cultures, and perspectives. Finding the Right High School Together

High school is a match to be made, not a prize to be won. That’s the heart of our high school philosophy at Berkeley Hall. Beginning in seventh grade, we guide families through a supportive process focused on finding the best fit for each student. The student-led process includes individual counseling, a dedicated high school readiness course, a campus fair and meetings. Students practice interviews, write personal essays, and reflect on their research. Families meet with our Head of School and key administrators. This supportive journey helps students feel confident and excited about the next step in their education.

Students can choose from a variety of engaging electives such as Digital Photography and Video Production, Robotics, Fiber Arts, Urban Gardening, Mock Trial, and Theater. Additional opportunities include Student Council, Peer Tutoring, and Math Olympiad.

Athletics offerings include flag football, volleyball, basketball, track, and swim. Berkeley Hall competes in the San Fernando Valley Private School League, giving students the chance to build skills, teamwork, and school spirit through interscholastic sports.
