Junior High Portraits

Tracy Cheney
Drawing self-portraits in art class can be a challenge at any age, but sometimes even more so at the Junior High level. For these assignments, some students chose to draw their friends instead of looking at themselves for several class periods! They began with traditional portraits in pencil, and then had fun experimenting with painting and weaving to create more abstract versions of a portrait portraying emotion or a concept.
