House: Growing in Community
Elif Cercel

The House Program kicked off the year in true Bobcat spirit on Friday. Students in grades 1-8 came together at a traditional sorting ceremony followed by getting-to-know-you activities. They also began creating their House identity by designing banners and logos for one of their 12 subhouses.

“The students and faculty always tell us House is really important to them because students get to know peers outside of their grade, and older kids have an opportunity for leadership and connection,” said Ms. Villanueva, our House Coordinator.

New this year, Bobcat Pride Points will recognize students who demonstrate integrity and care for the community outside of House days, while each subhouse will also be responsible for caring for a designated area of campus.

“My hope is that students will begin to take pride in their House beyond just the challenges and competition, and start to really care for their school. Our goal is for the Houses to be a reflection of our great Bobcat community,” Ms. Villanueva added.
