Geoffrey Fontaine, MA

Music Teacher
Education
M.A. in Music, Northwestern University
B.A. in Theater, San Francisco State
B.A. in Music, DePaul University School of Music

Mr. Fontaine grew up in San Francisco. He worked in the Pacific Northwest as an actor and director. He did over a dozen musicals and plays with JK Simmons. He also worked a Theater/Music in the Schools program doing music/drama with scores of children for 6 years. Mr. Fontaine then moved to Chicago to do Second City and went through their program. He worked at the Pasadena Symphony and KCSN as an on-air host. Then he taught at Milken Community High School for 5 years, then came to Berkeley Hall.

Why do I love teaching? Observing the progress (not just in music) made by the students. Observing their minds and abilities mature. Being a gateway for them to things – music, drama, Mock Trial, etc.- that I think are important to one’s life that have value and are worth knowing about.
