Our Early Childhood Department (ECD), serving our youngest students in nursery and early kindergarten, provides a supportive and nurturing environment for that all-important transition from home to school. Full-time faculty in each classroom guide young children toward mastery of daily tasks, self-discipline, and preparedness for kindergarten while, at the same time, engaging in developmentally appropriate academic activities (e.g., basic counting skills, narrative story telling, etc.).
In addition, our nursery school and early kindergarten children are nurtured and surrounded by learning specialists in music, art, physical movement, and library to ensure a well-rounded and balanced foundation for Primary School and beyond.
At Berkeley Hall, early childhood development is about teaching our youngest learners to embrace learning, self-discovery, and opportunities to interact well with others – thus helping them to launch a journey of discovery that will last a lifetime.
