BHS Core Values

The Berkeley Hall core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and compassion undergird and pervade all we do. These values are instilled in our students through every activity, whether in the classroom, on the playing field, in the art room, or on the stage. Students learn these pillars of character by watching the teachers, staff, and coaches express these qualities - and they learn them by watching other students express them. At Berkeley Hall, a student's sense of respect, responsibility, honesty and compassion will be exercised on a daily basis, and the strength of their character will grow, just as they do.

At our weekly Bobcat Assemblies, these core values are illustrated and amplified in a variety of ways. Both teachers and students have opportunities to examine aspects of these core values and share their insights with the community through stories, videos, pictures, and music. Our students learn to express these qualities by watching others, but also by setting an example for others. When they express their highest sense of right as a Berkeley Hall student, and live the core values of honesty, compassion, respect, and responsibility here on campus, they'll be well-prepared to carry these core values with them throughout their life, long after graduation.
