Coach Jones hails from Long Beach where she grew up playing basketball (winning a CIF Div. 1 Championship), competing in shotput, rowing crew (winning several regattas), kayaking, surfing, sailing, and playing in every music group possible as a French horn player. She went to UCLA where she got her teaching credential and B.A. in music while staying active with marching band, water sports, beach volleyball, and hiking. She taught a robust high school music program at Venice High School including a vigorous and award-winning marching band program. Prior to her start at BHS as a sub in 2017, she got an MBA and MFA at CSULB, traveled solo for a year around the U.S., Canada, and Australia, and was a House Mom for student housing for local universities. She has her Level 1 Track & Field Coaching Certification through USATF, Volleyball Head Coach Certification through AOCVB, Grassroots Coaching Certification for soccer through USAS, and has taken lacrosse coaching courses through USAL, amongst other professional development. She loves being active, has recently taken up golf, run several half marathons, and completed the LA Marathon.
Why do I love teaching? I love kids of all ages and find it fulfilling to help them discover their individual talents and thinking. I am especially enthusiastic about working with girls to help them understand their unique voice in the world and how to use it for good. I am grateful to be at Berkeley Hall where I teach outside all day every day on the beautiful campus while supporting a mission statement I believe in and working with colleagues who are great thinkers.
