Libby Scheiern, PhD

6th Grade Teacher
Education
Ph.D., Curriculum & Instruction, University of Illinois, Chicago

This is Dr. Scheiern’s 38th year teaching. She has taught students from kindergarten to college age. She most recently taught pre-service teachers how to teach and worked with college faculty on improving their teaching practice, as well as founded and directed the Center for Teaching and Learning at a small liberal-arts college in Illinois. Developed her own school, so much more.

Why do I love teaching? I love teaching because I love children. I love seeing their unlimited potential unfold as they learn and grow. I believe each of us have special God-given talents, and as a teacher I am afforded the privilege of supporting children discover and foster the development of their unique talents. Teaching is a calling, and there is no place I would rather be!
