7th Grade Medieval History - Christianity and Rome PowerPoint Presentations

Mrs. Tartaglia
Seventh grade students worked collaboratively in pairs or small groups to research and present their findings about the connection between Christianity and Rome. They did an outstanding job finding and incorporating both facts from primary and secondary sources and beautiful imagery into their PowerPoint presentations.  (Click the headline to read more.)
The seventh grade students discovered many interesting facts about the relationship between the two. Jesus was born in Palestine, which was a part of the Roman Empire. It was there that Jesus carried out his healing ministy based on love. The Romans did not understand Jesus, and they crucified him. Jesus rose again, and after his resurrection, he ordered his disciples to spread his healing message to all nations. Many followers of Jesus, including Peter, preached throughout the Roman Empire. In The Bible, Jesus is quoted as saying, "...thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church..."
Roman authorities brutally persecuted early Christians, but, despite this adversity, the new faith of Christianity spread. In the 300s, the Roman emperor Constantine allowed Christians to worship freely. Today, Christianity is still practiced in Rome and all over the world.
