Dads' Club Campout 2014 Thank You

Playing, eating together and spending the night on our football field is a highlight of the year for students and their families. This year we had record-breaking attendance at our Dads’ Club Campout: 535 meals were served and 81 families camped overnight. Dads’ Club President Dean Sussman and his committee organized the magical evening. Thanks to a great crew of dads (and moms) who: created signage, directed parking, off-loaded the cars, set-up tents, set-up a sports area and managed the sports, chaperoned, supervised the fire pits, underwrote costs, served food, packaged s’more kits, managed snacks and s’mores, helped at breakfast, moved tables and stacked chairs, and took many loads of trash to the dumpster. Speaking of clean-up, our own BHS students (as young as JK) dragged trash bags all over the field, picked up ALL the litter and made it totally clean! Thanks also to Administrators Rick Peters for assistance, and Sandy Cowen, who was the last to leave the field. Also, BHS family, Richard and Kerri Lauter with Savore Cusine and Events again treated BHS campers to a very special gourmet breakfast! Berkeley Hall parent Karla Amtmann’s company was hired again to provide the delicious vegetarian entrees, which were a huge hit! Wonderful BHS Music teacher Mr. Fontaine helped with announcements and fun broadcasting. Kudos to the Dads’ Club for putting on a spectacular Campout!
