7th Grade Outdoor Education

In the fall, the 7th grade travels to Catalina Island for their Outdoor Education trip. This year’s three-day trip to the Marine Institute at Toyon Bay runs from Wednesday, September 28 to Friday, September 30, and includes two nights on the island.

While there, students have the opportunity to snorkel, hike, rock climb, investigate marine ecosystems, and get to know their classmates better through team-building activities and shared mealtimes.

Here at Berkeley Hall, we have discovered that the experience is much more than an outdoor trip. The time away together gives everyone an opportunity to learn and bond in a very special way. Students and teachers come back with a greater understanding of each other, which enhances our on-campus experience.

To prepare for the trip, please fill out the following two permission forms – one for BHS and one for CIMI. Be sure to stick to the packing list provided on the Outdoor Ed tile on our website. Parents will have their questions answered at an informational Zoom meeting. Look out for an announcement and link.
