Kendall Shoemake

Assistant Head of School

Kendall Shoemake is our Assistant Head of School: Programs and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). This is a role that covers some of the responsibilities of the former Dean of Students with an additional focus on DEIB initiatives. 
 
Kendall holds a master’s degree in education from Antioch University and earned his professional education certificate in Differentiated Instruction Made Practical from Harvard University. He most recently served as Social Studies and Integrated Studies teacher, as well as DEIB Coordinator at Principia Middle School. His philosophy is that understanding is the key to creating empathy and there is nothing he values more than fostering mutual collaboration and respect. 
 
In his spare time Kendall enjoys long distance running, playing any sport, watching Broadway musicals and Disney movies, and reading anything by Brené Brown. He is originally from Claremont, California.
