During their final year at BHS, the Eight-Grade class embarks on a week-long Outdoor Education trip to Joshua Tree. While there, students have the opportunity to hike, rock scramble, investigate the desert ecosystems, and learn stewardship of the earth first hand. The 7th-grade class ventures to Catalina Island to study at the Catalina Island Marine Institute at Toyon Bay for three days during the first semester the year. At the start of their first year in Middle School, the entire Sixth-Grade class goes on an overnight, multi-day Outdoor Education trip to the San Bernardino Mountains. to experience learning in a different way. While there, students have the opportunity to hike, navigate their way through a high ropes course, stargaze, and get to know their classmates better through team-building activities and shared mealtimes.
